Started on January 23, 2024, by the Lions Club of Baroda in collaboration with The Baroda Association For The Blind and the Lions Club Society of Baroda, the Pragyachakshu Ramat Gamat Academy is a pioneering initiative empowering visually impaired individuals through structured sports and music training. Under the leadership of President Lion Gaurang Pandya, Blind Association President Lion CA. Yogesh Shah, Lion Adv. Devendra Parekh, and past leaders like PDG MJF.Lion Mahesh Shah and Lion Vijaysinh Umat, the academy provides free professional coaching in disciplines like athletics, chess, and cricket, alongside professional music instruction. Benefiting around 150 trainees annually—with monthly stipends and employment opportunities for visually impaired tutors and participants—the project builds on the club's 15-year legacy of producing national champions and aims to host national-level championships and establish the Pragyachakshu Cricket Association of Baroda.
